Our Own High School

Deerfield Beach High School

Until 1970, students in Deerfield Beach had to be bused to Pompano Beach or other cities to go to High School. The new high school opened in 1970 and in 1972 the first Senior Class
graduated from Deerfield Beach High School.

The new school brought a new excitement to Deerfield Beach, a new cause to put community energy behind.  As time passed, the school grew and came to offer the students all the sports and studies available in other schools.

One of the first year teachers was Roger Butler a native son of Deerfield Beach.
